Welcome

Welcome to the Carhill Integrated Primary School Website. Whether you are a current parent/carer, considering sending your child here in the future, or simply interested in our school, we hope to provide you with useful information along with an insight into the vibrancy of our school and the child centred ethos that underpins all that we do.

Carhill Integrated Primary School, built in 1829, is set in beautiful countryside and is located on the outskirts of Garvagh Town. Our pupils not only come from Garvagh, but also from other surrounding towns and villages including Kilrea, Maghera, Swatragh, Glenullin and Bovedy.

Our school grounds include a sensory garden, a woodland classroom, wildlife areas and a willow dome to foster learning outdoors and inspire imaginative play. We take pride in our strong community links with regular visits to Garvagh, Coleraine and Glenullin, which offer seasonal environmental learning opportunities. We are open for pupils from 8.10am, but unfortunately in light of COVID 19, our clubs and additional services have had to be suspended.

In 1992 Carhill was the first controlled primary school in Northern Ireland to transform into an integrated school. Since the early nineteenth century, we have always welcomed children and families from all faiths and also those who have none. We strive to provide a happy, stimulating learning environment for our children, and coupled with a creative and challenging curriculum, we aim to enhance the interests, skills and aptitudes of all our pupils.

Since 2010, Carhill IPS has nearly tripled its enrolment - a true testament to the vision and success of the school.

We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find the information you are looking for. Please feel free to contact the school direct with any queries you may have.
