SEN

We recognise that every child is unique and has different abilities and needs to that of their peers. At Carhill IPS every child is tracked and unique learning interventions may be put in place at all levels of ability.

All children in year one are ‘baselined’ so that

learning needs are identified and addressed as early as possible.

Children with special educational needs are catered for more effectively within our small class sizes, where teachers can identify learning barriers more readily.

Pupils will engage in learning experiences both in the classroom and also, where needed, through small focus groups.

Where a child is experiencing more severe difficulties, I.E.Ps will be put in place with parental consent. The school may also involve outside agencies such as an EA psychologist, Social Services etc. in the planning for his/her future learning.
